About Us Ministries Programs How Can I Help Events Links Blog

The Jacob's Well Ministry is focused on the spiritual, emotional and physical well-being of our participants.

Our program is Christ-centered with a strong philosophy of restoration, providing safe, temporary housing for single women and single mothers struggling with an inability to be self-sufficient in caring for themselves and their children.

Jacob's Well provides oversight to the Utica House of Hope (UHH), a place where women can begin to rebuild their lives. They get a second chance to learn, develop confidence and gain training they need to move ahead in life.

The UHH is a two-year program that includes an onsite life coach and family advocate that meets with the participants regularly to provide guidance with life choices and setting goals for educational and career opportunities. The program also includes a network of volunteers from area churches to provide mentoring and Christian community.

The UHH offers a structured and safe environment for the development of spiritual growth and healthy life skills and partners with other community organizations to provide:

    * Spiritual mentoring

    * Educational opportunities

    * Job opportunities

    * Financial training

    * Parenting classes

    * Support groups

Old Utica School

The good works of Jacob's Well and Utica House of Hope are carried out in the historic Utica School. This is the perfect environment for the mission of Jacob's Well. Some classrooms will become dorms, while others will become classrooms once again.

In the cafeteria where students formerly ate lunch, women and their families will gather for all their meals. Utica School is the place where thousands of children began their lives. Now, it is a place where single women and their families can come to rebuild their lives

In addition the gymnasium and cafeteria will open once again to the community for recreation and community events.

While renovations continue we are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead in serving women and their families to develop and grow in a stable, loving environment.

We look forward to opening as soon as renovations are completed and to serving along side others in our community!
